Cubjac Cottage

AN OFFERING FOR HOLIDAYS IN SOUTHWEST FRANCE

Cubjac Village

The village is located on the Au Vezere River 20 minutes north-east of Perigueux and 1.5 hours northeast of Bordeaux.

The cottage is situated in the central square of the quiet and beautiful village. Parking is easy and safe next to the cottage.

The medieval church, the river and its equally medieval bridge are all less than 100 metres away, and conveniences like the Post Office, supermarket and the Tabac (newsagency-cum-coffee shop-cum-bar) are all even less distance.

The Tabac & La Sympatoche both have nice verandahs for relaxing in the sun while enjoying a drink. The village boasts a white sandy beach and river swimming area to cool down in the summer when temperatures can get to 38C.

Canoes and a tennis court are available for hire less than 3 minutes walk away. Tennis racquets are in the cottage. Just across the bridge, on the right day, you could see, and perhaps help, the locals in a game of boules (or petanque).

There is a small market on Fridays in the village square that also contains the local bakery and butchery whose produce is fresh daily.
Most of the sights of the Dordogne and Perigord are within an hour’s drive from Cubjac.

ATM withdrawal facilities are 15 minutes away at Thenon, where, on Saturday, there is also the largest and most interesting market in the area.

There are also 5 recommended restaurants within 15 minutes drive of the village. The details for these are in the cottage information folders.
